How to Build a 5 Volt DC Source

For electronics enthusiasts the presence of 5 V DC can be very useful. Many microcontrollers and digital integrated board accept 5V voltage (generally, this number ranges from 3 to 15).This guide to create a 5V DC power supply, which can create a current of up to 1.5A power. You will need to combine several components.

One of the wires of the AC adapter will be considered positive. The other is a ground wire. At the moment, it does not matter which of the wires you select for a role, it is only important to remember your choice. Connect the positive lead from the AC adapter to the diode side, not the marked line. You connect the positive lead to the anode of the diode where the current will flow through the diode in one direction only and charge the capacitor which you connect later.

Locate the capacitor lead marked line. Typically, a line of white color is drawn minus sign. This is the negative side. You have to connect the DC 5V cable to the AC adapter. Connect the other wire to the capacitor diode marked line. Thus, we connect the positive lead of the capacitor to the cathode of the diode. The diode allows current from the transformer to charge the capacitor and thus prevents the capacitor is discharged through a transformer.

Connect pin 1 of the voltage regulator with a branch point where the positive side of the capacitor is connected to the marked side of the diode line. Pin 2 should be connected to a ground wire from the AC adapter. Track 3 - it is a way out. Between the terminal 3 and the ground voltage will be 5V. BTW, you can select the 5V DC power supply at Banggood. Besides, you can easily get other computer accessories (e.g. 3.5mm 90 degree adapter) there with high quality and reasonable prices.
