Most often the need to replace the hard
drive on a laptop is the fact that it is out of order or its volume is
insufficient for the user's needs. In both cases, you can solve the
problem by replacing the hard disk to a larger one.
Before purchasing a new hard drive to verify your description of
what kind of model of the laptop hard drive is inside (SATA or IDE). Usually
in modern computers use SATA hard drive, but many people are still actively
using laptops with an IDE hard drive (the size of two options - 2.5 inches
(e.g. ThinkPad T400 hard drive), which is less than the size of the HDD for desktop
computer).
To replace the hard disk, in the design of
most notebook models, a special cover by loosening the screw with which you can
immediately get access to the set on the laptop hard drive. However, there
are rare models in which the HDD change is necessary to disassemble the lower
part of the laptop completely. If you are turning the laptop, twisting
screws with existing caps and have not found a single one hard drive, you'd
better see a specialist. But for most notebook users is simple - just
unscrew one or two screws on the rectangular cover, remove it and thus easy
access to the installed hard drive.
The notebook hard disk, as one of the computer parts, is installed in special skid. Before you remove the old
hard drive to the laptop, remove bolted to it in small cogs slides and drag
them to the new hard drive. The slider can also be fastened with screws
and to the laptop. Pull out the hard drive from the laptop only for the
plastic tab or the focus is shifting to the hard drive in the sled as the box
of the table (sometimes the hard drive you just drag vertically).
After installing a new hard drive in sled
in the laptop case tighten the screw on the housing cover. After
installing a new hard drive in a laptop will need to install your operating
system on so that you can continue to use the computer in the usual way.
