The first memory DDR SDRAM appeared in 2001. Today it still is, of course, to be found in older computers, but it is very rare. Already in 2003-2004, it was replaced by a DDR2 SDRAM - the second generation with double the frequency of the bus. DDR2 memory is the difference in the housing (240 contacts and other key location), which make it not interchangeable with DDR. The line began with a module PC2-3200, DDR2-400 worked on the chip with an effective frequency of 400 MHz and a bandwidth of 3200 MB / s.
